This beautiful little gold filled locket was made circa mid-1800s, and features a pretty design on the front adorned with royal blue and white enamel. The back is equally intricate, with a design of flourishes and leaves. Inside, there is an ambrotype (glass) photograph of a young man, and a lock of hair; likely this was a love token or perhaps a "memento mori" of one who had passed on.
